Sherif Abdul Majeed, popularly known by his stage name Maccasio, is a Ghanaian afropop, hip pop and Hiplife musical artist. He is a musician from the Kingdom of Dagbon, in the Northern Region of Ghana. Maccasio is the current best rapper in the Northern Region who  raps in his native language, Dagbani, but he is also known to be a versatile rapper with the ability to mix it with terms in English and the most popular Twi language.
In other occasions in Accra and Tamale, he shared stages with artists, Shatta Wale, Samini, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and VVIP among other local and African artists.

The year 2017 discovered a lot of young talents into the Ghana Music Industry of Which Maccasio is one of the mainstream artists now in the industry together with KiDi, Kuami Eugene, eShun, Magnom, Obibini, King Promise, B4Bonah and Patapaa.
The above mentioned names are all hoping to be nominated in the Discovery of the category in the  19th Edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2018.

 Among these young artists who have chance of being nominated, Maccasio is the only Artiste who has a strong chance of winning the Discovery of the year or the Best New Artiste of the year award Category of the 19th edition of the Vodafone Ghana music awards 2018.

Below are Four reasons why Maccasio deserves to win the VGMA 2018 Discovery of the year award Category. 

1. Won Favorite Social Media Personality of the year 2017

Maccasio won for himself the favorite social medial personality of the year award Category at the People's Celebrity Awards 2017, beating the likes of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Facy Gadem, Medikal, Moesha Boudong, Nana Ama McBrown and Mona who is popularly known as Hajia4Real.

2. People's Celebrity Awards nominations.

 In the same year 2017, Maccasio grabbed 3 nominations in the People's Celebrity Awards. He was nominated for the Favorite Social Media Personality Category of which he won, the Favourite Male Musician of the year Category, and the Favorite song of the year Category of which his Too Big song was nominated for that category.

3. Overall Artiste of the year at the Northern Entertainment Awards 2017. 

Maccasio in the same year had five nomination in the Northern Entertainment Awards of which he won four (4) awards out of the five categories nominated for. Maccasio won the Overall Artiste of year, Artiste of the year, Best Rapper, Best Collaboration of the year  and the Most Popular song of year Categories in the 2017 Northern Entertainment Awards.

4. Concerts/ Stage performances 

Maccasio in 2017 had the chance to perform on same stage with big stars in the industry such as Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, VVIP, Samini, Among others. Maccasio also filled the Aliu Mahama sports stadium with a sold out which was held concert held in Tamale.

The Nisala Album owner and the Dagomba Girl hit maker whose official video is currently number one on YouTube and trending all over Africa has really worked so hard last year and he stand tall to win the Best New Artiste of the year Award Category in the upcoming 19th Edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2018.
