The University of Education, Winneba, held its 1st section of its 22nd congregation in Winneba main campus from November 22nd to 25th for graduands from the School of Graduate Studies, the Faculty of Social Science Education, Faculty of Educational Studies, Faculty of Foreign Languages Education and Communication, Faculty of Science Education, The School of Business and the School of Creative Arts.
The 1st section of the 22nd congregation was held at the Jophus Anamoah Mensah Auditorium, inside North Campus the main campus.
The Faculty of Social Science Education, one of the vibrant Faculties with four Departments; Geography, Economics, Political Science and History on Winneba main campus emerged as the Faculty with the highest number of students who graduated with First Class honors Degree in Bachelor of Arts Social Science Education.
Out of a total of about 665 graduands, 25 graduated successfully with First Class honors degree.
This is recorded as the first in history ever since the Faculty was established and also served as a great achievement for the Department. Comparing previous records, it is amazing that, the 2017 batch of the Department of social science are exceptional and very hardworking.
The over all best student in the Faculty of social science Education Mr. Bismark Mensah, achieved a cumulative grade point Average of 3.86 making him the graduate with the highest grade point. He was followed by :

Also, about 201 students graduated with a Second Class honors Upper division, about 254 graduated with Second Class honors Lower division, 114 graduated with Third Class and 20 graduated with a pass.
The Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, Rev, Fr. Prof. Anthony, Afful- Broni congratulated all the graduates and advised them to work hard and contribute positively towards the development of the nation. He wished them well in their endeavors and further advised them not to indulge in any corrupt practices but rather should act responsibly with the necessary skills acquired from the school in their various work places.
The Acting Vice chancellor further stressed on the need of graduates making use of their entrepreneurship skills, where he advised graduates that they should be able to create their own businesses for themselves without depending solely on the government.
The graduates were filled with joy and happiness after receiving their certificates from their respective Deans of Faculties.
